Mr. Shaji P.N. is a successful ginger farmer from Kerala. He began his farming career in 1998 on 1 acre of agricultural land in Wayanad with an investment of just Rs. 1 lakh. Over time, in addition to ginger, Shaji expanded his cultivation to banana plantations. His farm products are sold in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Odisha and Hyderabad. From one acre of land, he yields about 16 tons of produce, generating an income of around 8 lakh rupees. Presently, he is also earning significantly by leasing out his land for Rs. 1.20 lakh per acre. He possesses in-depth knowledge of soil preparation, irrigation management, pest control, crop rotation, harvesting techniques, post-harvest handling, disease management, fertilization methods, online and offline marketing, sales and more.
